I didn’t wind up benchmarking my cluster against a desktop, but I would bet you would need a significant number of RPis to make it worthwhile against your machine (assuming you’ve already optimized your workflow for parallelization). Though, if this is a legitimate use case for you, you can use this guide to set up an actual cluster of systems more powerful than RPi.

e.g. Maybe get a few used tower servers and follow the tutorial on those servers rather than RPi.

My cluster was modeled after an actual compute cluster I used in university. It’s the exact same setup, but instead of 5 RPis, its 30 blade servers.
